Preferred Business Group Meeting Minutes
January 4, 2012
River Bend Golf Club
Dinner served and meeting called to order by Chris at 7pm. An attendance sheet was implemented and passed around with the leads sheet.
Member intros were done by those in attendance (see sign in sheet).
Discussion began about 2012 and new implementations by the group such as signing in, posting minutes and attendance online. Tables were separated to allow members to sit in smaller groups and get to know each other better.
Greg Smith was announced as having the most leads for the 4th quarter with 9 leads. Greg will receive this quarter’s dues for free. Chris also informed the group that 385 leads were passed in the group in 2011.
Spike, David, Dan, and all others were thanked for their work and participation in the parade. Spike mentioned coming up with a design well in advance of next year’s parade and focusing more on lights and foundation than anything else. It was also suggested that the group look into doing other city’s parades.
Upcoming events were discussed and feedback was solicited regarding things the group participates in, any new events, etc. It was discussed that we do fewer events which is believed to drive more members to take part in. Also, having committees or a few key people in charge of the event in advance will help with organization and preparation.
We talked about how the group spends their money as far as advertisement, web design, event participation, charitable events, etc.
Breaking up into groups during the meetings possibly monthly or quarterly was suggested to help people understand businesses and who they may know that could benefit from the particular members in the group.
A membership drive was suggested to attract new members. Rachael suggested offering an incentive to the current member that brought in the most new members such as free dues for that quarter.
Ira suggested the group participate in a Habitat for Humanity build to showcase some of our members in the construction area and to allow the group to give back while receiving press.
Our next event is the weekend of Jan 27th at the Flagler Home Show located at Flagler Palm Coast High School in Palm Coast, booths 154 & 155 in the small gym. Rachael will be purchasing two 6 foot tables and tablecloths to have embroidered by Daytona Sportswear to give our booth a more uniform look.
It was said to please bring ideas for anything you would like to see happen in the group, with the website, or events you would like us to participate in or step back from. Also, please start bringing business cards to every meeting as was customary, but has recently fallen by the way side.
Meeting adjourned at appx 8:30. Next meeting is January 18 at River Bend Golf Club.
